Story of Lily and the Bird

Lily is a girl. She is eight years old. She loves animals. She has a cat and a fish.

One morning, Lily hears a sound. “Tweet tweet!” It is a bird. The bird is on the ground.

The bird cannot fly. Its wing is hurt. Lily feels sad. She wants to help.

She gets a box. She puts a towel in it. She picks up the bird and puts it in the box.

Lily tells her dad. He says, “Let’s call the animal doctor.” They go to the vet.

The vet looks at the bird. He says, “The bird needs rest.” Lily takes the bird home.

She gives the bird water. She talks to it every day. The bird gets better.

After one week, the bird flies again. Lily opens the window. The bird flies away.

Lily waves and smiles. She helped the bird. She feels happy.
